Robert
Then it may not be using ACER drivers.
The box maybe taged as a ACER but it may not have ACER hardware inside.(chips)
Try this
Download aida32 it will tell you for sure what it is.
Then use that info to get the right drivers for it.
----------------------
aida32 download From:

Aida32 - Enterprise System Information 3.93
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download183.html
Size: 3.1Mb
This is the one I like , It will show you YOUR
CD Prouct ID Numbers and other SN#,of software you have
installed on your machine...so you can print them out
for safe keeping...
Just click on Software item (on the left) and then right click on the items
on the right and select copy and then open NotePad and paste it in
and print it out and put one with YOUR win2k cd...
********
Personal System Information 3.93
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download181.html
Size: 2.9 Mb

Plus more below

unzip it to C:\Aida32 and then run the aida32.exe to run the program
or
Start/Run c:\Aida32\aida32.exe

New ver. of aida32 called Everest Home Edition
It has a installer and uninstaller with it..
from below:
