I tried changing the BOOT.INI file, and it booted fine, but then the problem has been intermittant, so I can't be 100% sure. What executable processes the BOOT.INI file? If that got damaged, it might have problems parsing the BOOT.INI sometimes. I haven't pulled the SCSI Zip drive, but the drive has been there for quite a while and this problem didn't show up until I had to reinstall Win 2K after changing the motherboard. Bill
