I tried all the solutions above and do have multiple monitors on a Dell Lattitude
D610 running Win2k, and netmeeting as well but to no avail. What finally did
it was changing a different registry key's value: Shell Icon BPP from 16 to
32. That did it!
That key is in the same location as Shell Icon Size (listed in an above post).
Or just search the registry for it (Edit > Find)
For the ghosted/greyed out icon - I've never seen that - but I've seen Use transition
effects for menus and tool tips greyed out where you have to change a registry
value as well - not sure what you would change this one to. Maybe a search on the
internet would help...
