Hi to all. Thought i would scour the net to find a solution...
Ended up i found my own!

I'm running XP Media Centre but that doesn't make a difference in this instance.

1. First of all insert setup disc
2. Reboot and load recovery console from setup
3. My windows drive is f: so navigate to your windows drive by typing cd/ x: (x being 
your windows drive letter)
4. Type chkdsk /r
5. When its finished run the following 3 commands:
   >bootcfg /rebuild
   >fixboot
   >fixmbr
