Hello i have a :-

Gigabyte GA-6WMM7 (REV 1.5) with latest BIOS
it has an 82801L Chipset
Windows 2000 (SP4 ONLY installed) (No updates (Want to solve this first in case i
have to reinstall windows)

No other software (see above)

The problem is split into two parts.
1. When the onboard modem is enabled it is only recognised as a unknown PCI device

2. in devmgmt.msc (device manager i get a device in the Sound, video and game controllers
called a
AC'97 Driver for intel(r) 82801AB controller

This device has a code 10 fault

so far i have tried the autoinst,.exe from intel (which has fixed similar problems
with different machines before but no luck this time

I can't see a seperate modem driver in the intel site that applies to this board.

p.s if i can;t get a modem driver that's not so bad but i do need shot of this error
message in device manager as this computer is to be sold and it would just lame to
have an error message as standard!!
