Thanks Dex, I turned the messenger service off, I can find my way around W2K pretty well. I checked the registry, didn't find anything in the run or run once sections for windows. I know this is just a ploy to get me to buy their software, but I'd like to get it off this system. This is a system I am building for a friend, so I don't have the luxury of time to find this nasty little bug... I don't know where I picked it up... only installed 2 software packages, from what I believe is reputable companies. Anyway, thanks for the update.
