You are adding a lost caboose of a message to an old and confusing thread. Few readers
will dig down this far into an old thread. If this isn't enough, start a thread
of your own. You'll get better exposure that way.
To get into your situation:
1. Annoyances is a software (OS) forum, and you have a HARDWARE problem.
2. Dell continues to use purposely proprietary versions of power supplies on most
of their PC's through the current ones.
3. Replacements are available that are in Dell's own arrangements.
4. There are adapter plug devices you can get that will allow a standard ATX psu
to be used in Dell PC's.
5. I do not have URL's for any of that data. Google does, however.
