You're best off to slave the HD on mates PC or if you have a 2nd PC.
Windows needs to load up the USB port(s) and that's the hanger with a USB ext.HD.
You can also use a Laptop/desktop PC with more than two USB ports (i.e. PCMCIA card
with 4 usb ports for 32.oobucks) and two ext.box that you can get for 23.oo bucks
ea.
I have 4 of them and they work great for this kind of job.
Moving files from one HD to a backup/spare HD.
You can get backup/spare HD's off e.a.b.y. like a lot of 5 for 5.oo bucks plus shipping
of 10.oo bucks.
(most will be older types 3gb to 20gb) take outs.
If you need the links to the items let me know and I will post them.
Have a good weekend.
Just a note: Don't use cd or dvd disks for backups all the files will be come read
only files once you put them on a disk..
