The 2nd part of the post will tell you how to take out win2k.

You can also do it by using the edit button on the same snapshot, it will popup the
boot.ini file that you can edit and remove the call to win2k, then just reboot and
remove the winnt folder, the norm will be c:\>winnt
But it's best to let windows do the work for you, it will make sure you have the
boot up files on the C: drive and the boot.ini file is right.
The boot.ini is just one of the files needed by the OS to load windows....(XP)
