Because this is a new install I would start over with a new clean install, the com
ports are a base item you want working from the getgo and should be up and running
from the start.
1st run your BIOS and make sure they are listed .
They maybe disable in the BIOS, use your user guide for your machine to see how to
enable them in the BIOS.
Then run win2k and see if they show up, if not.
reinstall win2k again.
