hi
can i still use this if i am not using a compaq presario?
ok... what happened to me is this:
I had an old computer fixed which had crashed from a shareware program(old Dos
jeaopardy game..haha). i had brought it to school for someone to fix and they did
and loaded windows 2000 pro onto it.. great right? well no.. my computer has two
hard drives already.. a fujitsu one.. and Maxtor.. the c drive is the fujitsu one
and is working properly but it wouldn't let me use Maxtor so i sat infront of the
computer for hours(i am not a comp. genius btw lol) and i saw that the Maxtor hard
disk wasn't enabled and the function to enable it(a drop box that says "enabled"
and "disabled") was grayed out.. so i did a troubleshoot and tried a bunch of different
options and i found out that the Maxtor hard drive that i have is not compatible
with windows 2000. so it said that i would have to go buy a new hard disk that is
compatible with it.. well i can't afford it and my dad can't either so i thought
that i could load window 98(which worked with that hard drive before it crashed)
but i can't get 98 so i have 95..... yah.. so now i need to remove 2000 because it
says that it can't load 95 off of NT... ugh this computer is bugging the cr** outta
me
so.. like i said i am not that adept with computers but i know more then anyone in
my family and i don't want to have to lug the computer back to school and say that
there is still something wrong with it(and don't have the means to..)... so i need
help to do it myself... so.. if i can use this help with my non-compaq presario computer
then great ^_^.....a step-by-step guide would be great :P but that's asking for much
..
