Try the following:

In IE, click on Tools/Internet Options/Delete files, in the Temp. Internet files
section.
Make sure the 'Delete all offline content' box is CHECKED, then click OK.

Next, click 'Delete cookies'/OK & 'Clear History/OK'

Close Internet Options, click on Start button, click 'Search for Files or folders'
and in the Search box, enter the search phrase *.tmp in the top box and click
'Search now'

When the search is done, select all files and delete them. Empty the Recycle bin
and restart your PC.

This may or may not fix your problem. Got me out of a few scrapes with IE anyway.
But as I suggested earlier, switch to Firefox! It's a new, secure world! :-)
