Actually, Win2K was not really developed for games. MS recommended either Win 9X
or XP Home (when XP was released). Win2k was developed for the business environment
and IME, it isn't that friendly with many games that need a heavy graphics and sound
sub-system. You may have to check your graphics drivers also. Win2K is heavy on
security and that alone can cause problems in many games. MCM is pretty picky IME
so depending on the version you will be better off in Win 9X or if it says designed
for XP on the box, it should run best in XP.
