When i launch any applications (IE, e-mail, online games) that try and attach to
the internet i get an error box with a blue question mark in a speech bubble and
the letters 'sdasd' at the top. There is a set of numbers in the box that rotate
between 542042, 574328, 398539, 739493, 600082 and blank. I can't find anything that
relates to this on the net as yet. there is no problem with local applications that
do not access the internet.
I think that it is app, process or driver related as it does not happen in safe mode
and the only applications that continue to work after the error is 'Opera' and 'Firefox.'
I have run Ewido, Adaware, Spywareblaster, Spybot, Hijackthis, Smitfraudfix, Stinger
to check for malware and viruses and have found nothing. I have refreshed my motherboard
and network drivers, run W2k repair from CD twice and even done a full re-install
over my existing build, all to no effect.
Any advice would be helpful at this point as the only other solution i see is a complete
format and re-build.
