This is true regardless of whether you are using all 2000 pro workstations or if you have an actual server OS running that is housing the data. I would also suggest some training on network management as file servers and shares are the most basic of tasks that a new admin takes care of. CK is correct that it takes some work to set up, but it is not an overwhelming task the (s)he makes it out to be.
