Okay, I'll try increasing the value again. But NOTE -- the reference you gave was for Win95/98/ME, with a VERY different registry key and default value noted. I have been using the M$ KB 875441 article specific to Win2k, WinS2003 and XP, which references hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\netbt\parameters using lmhoststimeout as a dword value with default of 6000 (6 secs), and upping it from there... I'll try some more and report back if successful. I just don't understand why I can map it manually from Explorer instantly, but need to allow many seconds for a batch file to work... Especially if I can see the XP box using "NET VIEW" anyhow. How can it see it from one command and not from another? That's what's driving me nuts! IAC Thanx again.
