Windows Media Lite Sunday, January 7, 2007 at 5:15 pm Windows 2000 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by DNA (553 messages posted) On my Windows 2000 server, I've left Windows Media Player at version 6.4 and installed Windows Media Lite along with the WMP9 codecs for WMP 6.4 and the KLite Codec Pack. I haven't had any problems. The server's got all kinds (and ages) of .mpg/.wmv/.avi/ files on it, and I've watched streaming WMP9 videos on Firefox 2. Once catch is, is that you'd be best off running Windows Media Lite with a fresh install of Win2K that's left at WMP 6.4, specifically to use Windows Media Lite. WMP 9 is far more of a headache with Windows 98/ME! I do, however, hate WMP 9's clumsy "integration" into the Explorer shell with associated file types in Win2K...
