Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life.

This is what I would do... :)
Go out a get a new HD say a 40gb for about 50.oo bucks
Put the OLD (NEW) one in a box and put it away.
Then install win2k on the new HD, but you'er in for alot of work, because all most
all laptops have very proprietary hardware.
I would send off for a driver disk 1st then get the new HD.
