Thanks for this, but no joy. Also, based on another reply, I tried the same deal with IrfanView but it's the same. Why can't Microsoft let me call a .JPG file a "JPEG Image" and a .GIF a "GIF Image" (or whatever) and still open them both with the same program? Laurie
