Hi
As seems to be the case my PC is causing yet another error much to my aggravation
this time It came up saying something called win2k/CSC/00000002 was corrupt and to
run chkdsk
Not knowing how to do this I ran defrag as it had a disk analyser and it showed two
Hard drives
My standard one (I presume) called C:
and an extra one (which doesn't exist) called Unmounted drive
Both registered as the exact same size and after I sorted the CSC thing by forcing
it to run a disk check the free space has now altered
From 1.5gb on tthe C drive
to slightly less on the unmounted drive
when I tried running the analyse on unmounted drive it came up sayinf there was
something wrong with a string of numbers followed by recycle bin DESKTOP.INI
is somehting seriously junking my pc a piece at a time?I already lost the Explorer
side panel icons and restoring the old settings didn't work.
Also when I ran backup and made a ERD a while ago it said it had saved a backup to
the c drive of settings too, these are now missing.
Is this a result of my rather old Zone Alarm firewall? as Im sick of random damage
occuring to my PC when all I do is check the odd media site like gamespot and my
usual emails and shops. Is there a recent good free Firewall?
Apologies for all the questions is just Ive had to reinstall win2k 3 times now due
to some idiot messing up my pc for their sick amusement and its getting annoying
