Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life.

It sounds like when you re-install the Win XP OS it redid all your setting and drivers
now you will need to start over and put the drivers back into place..
The reg.file runs the machine and when you reinstall OS it will replace the one that's
in place with a new one..
IF you are running XP you can use the RESTORE Wizard and it get all your setting
back to the date you want to use.
