No.. Not without a lot of massaging and trickery for Windows. First, Windows wasn't
designed to be installed to an external drive, and second, your current Windows install
is trying to load and run with the motherboard IDE driver, not a USB setup. So bottom
line, this particualr install wouldn't run without a lot of modification and repair
by a very experienced user who fully understands what has to be done to get Windows
to run externally on USB devices. We won't even go into the difficulties with an
unstable USB buss that can crash Windows when an unexpected disconnect occurs.

See here;

http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/storage/usb-boot.mspx

and this gives you an idea of what it takes to even get XP to run from an external
USB drive:

I don't know of anyone trying it with W2K... BTW, HDD 0 is what Windows will boot
from or where the boot files are always located unless you had originally specified
another physical drive in the boot order. So of course now, it will also fail to
boot as the USB drive isn't the same drive enumeration. (as explained in the first
link above)
