restoring system?

hi guys and gals. i need some help with this one. im trying help someone who is
running windows 2000 professional. they've been downloading and now they have a
gotten an infection. we've run virus scans and quarantined what the system would
allow us to. we've run adware scans and gotten rid of that stuff too. but she's
still getting pop ups everywhere! her antivirus will pop in the right hand corner
and say there is a trojan but it will not allow us to get rid of it during scans.
what i'm wondering is this, is there a system restore function that i'm not aware
of? if so how do i get to it to take the system back to when it was fully functional
and having no problems. i can't seem to find the system restore on the machine...........
HELP PLEASE!!!! ASAP!!!
