I've got server 2000 and every user, including new ones, take over 5 to 10 minutes to log in. The ctrl-alt-delete option comes up quick, but loading network profile and settings takes forever. DNS seems to be mis-configured and network drives(mapped drives) seem to disapper at times, but after restarts they come back....why?

I want to demote server out of the domain, remove the dns and then create a new domain and setup dns correctly. Good idea? How long should it take for 3 pc's? Do I need to create new profiles on each workstation? Or can I just fix dns in itself? Is there a good, easy to follow DNS site?

By the way, the internet works all of the time, so the router/switch seem to be working fine. Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!
