It all depends...
If you need to have an exact copy of existing HD (all data, and programs), you'll 
have to use some imaging program (like Ghost).
If you need to back up justa data, settings, etc., you can use Windows back up, or 
any of free back up programs listed HERE

P. S. ERUNT (otherwise an excellent program) is out of question, since it'll back 
up your registry only.
