How old is the computer?? If Dex's advice doesn't work, you may have multiple issues
and need a valid bootable floppy with the CD rom drivers on it. We would have to
know exactly the procedure you are using and exactly what kind of software/booting
media you have to be of further help. What type of W2K install disc do you have?
OEM, retail full or upgrade, MS original, copy of a disc etc etc. Finally, an I/O
error is almost always a hardware failure. If it's not due to an external piece
of hardware or drive/cabling, then IME it is a bad motherboard most likely..
