I'm supporting a small network of W2K PC's for a school. One user logs into her computer with the same user ID & password but W2K creates a new identity profile. It's happened three times now. She logs in a "user name" w/ password. Sometime later it resets and she logs in the same but W2K creates a "user name"."computer name" profile in the documents and settings folder. All her user settings restart. Today she logged in the same as always but W2K created "user name"."computer name".000 profile. All user settings restarted again. She thinks the only event that prompts this is windows update activity. The PC is on SP4 and her user ID / password does not expire. I'm lost as to what causes her user ID to keep resetting. No domain or workgroup changes have been made to the network and the PC does not log into a domain. Could it be windows update? I'd appreciate some help. Thanks.
