It's hard to say what has gone wrong,,,but it sounds like the HD has lost the system
files,, (start up files) in win2k that's the reg file the norm that gets nailed,
but because you are getting a request to put in the boot disk it sounds like you
had a dual boot system at one time or it was updated for win98 to win2k...
But now you will need to get a win2k cd and run the repair with the disk.. to get
it backup and running..
