FYI,
I created a new user with administrative privilages and low and behold, I can access
everything without the restrictions error comming up. Don't even suggest that this
is the solution ... I just wanted anyone willing to help know that this is what I
have tried.
The user 'administrator' has somehow been modified, without my knowledge, and I need
to get that user back to the way it was.
Also FYI, there are no others here who would play a trick on me or anything like
that, it's just my wife and I who use this system ....
There are a lot of implications for me if I do in fact change the user to something
else ... such as all the passwords and programs have to be realigned with this new
user and it'll be a nightmare reconfiguring everything ... so the 'fix' is to get
the administrator user back to the way it was.
