So far I just compiled an EXE that exits immediately and replaced QTTASK.EXE with it. I renamed the new EXE as QTTASK.EXE and I kept a copy of the original QTTASK.exe around just in case. Started QT yesterday and exited it. 2 Reboots later and no icon in the task bar. There might be free compilers for free languages available on the web, just google for them. Build a "empty" exe that does nothing but exit right away and it might help.
