Combining what you have said about the problems appearing after you installed the
software, and the nature of the problems, I would say that one of the programs has
a setting to deliberately limit admin privileges for the Administrator Account. That
you were nevertheless still able to add another User account with Admin privileges
supports this theory.
Limiting Administrator privileges is a very simple way of protecting against malware,
as it makes it almost impossible for malware, etc to install itself.
Another point is that you can't blame Bill G for everything. A large percentage of
malware succeeds in its nasty mission because the computer user mindlessly clicks
OK without checking what they are approving, or opens attachments in infected emails,
or links in web pages.
Anyway, now you have a new Admin account, all should be well.
Sorry, but I have no idea bout the original problem. Someone has changed your screen
resolution is all I can say, unwittingly or whatever...
