I see your point, but it is often just not reasonable to include every possible step. 
If you see an instruction to, for instace,  "open services.msc", I would think even 
a novice could Google a way to do it.

That way the novice spends the huge amount of time required to find out how, and 
learns something, instead of the "expert" having to spend time writing an explanation 
for something which takes two simple steps.

No-one on this forum gets paid for their time. after all.
