Would have to agree with Jerry.  To be completely safe, always copy and paste.  Cut/paste, 
drag etc can fail, especially on large files and you end up with corruption or a 
completely lost file, especially if the system decides to go down just then.  An 
operating system is not trustworthy.  Confirm the file is really moved and then delete 
the source file manually when it is valuable data.
