Hi,
My family recently bought a new computer that uses windows Vista( this is our first
time using anything other than win2000) We have dsl from qwest, I bought a linksys
RT41-BU wired router.
Today I went though the installation process and then tried to connect my laptop,
it is a IBM T20 it has a firefox browser on it. But it wont let me connect to the
internet on the laptop. The ethernet light on the back of the laptop is on, so I
know, it knows its there.
I really dont know much about computers, and if you could give me any insight
to the problem I would appreciate it. ( I read on other post about ISP's and configurations
but I have absolutely know idea what they are talking about.)
Also these next 2 questions might seem stupid but.. Will me adding this laptop
make the main computer slower? or will it be able give it a virus? We finally got
this real nice computer and I dont want to do anything to mess it up.
I didnt know if this should be in the Vista thread or not, if it is, im sorry,
and please tell me and I will ask over there.
Thanks Rocky
