I have tried for years to connect my laptop running XP Home to my desktop running 2000 SP4 without success. My desktop is connected directly to the internet via a DSL Modem. The modem is also connected to to a wireless router. The laptop connects via it's internal wireless modem to the wireless router. I can connect perfectly to the internet with either computer, but I can not share the printer connected to the desktop or share any files. I know a lot about computers, but not much about setting up networks. I would like to be able to print from my laptop to the printer connected directly to the desktop and also share files between the 2 computers. Could you, please, help me get started?
