Hi, The vista computer can connect to the internet. The win2000 laptop I bought off ebay, and I originally bought it just to use a language software I have, and I have never connected it to the internet. On the vista machine the network icon (or what I think is the network icon) is two computers one behind the other and what looks to be a earth. There isnt any icon with a red or yellow cross. I really do appreciate you helping me and hope this information will help. Thanks Rocky
