OK. That gives a better picture of the problem. For some reason, the win2k desktop
is not reaching the router. The 169 address is called an APIPA address and cannot
be released using the ipconfig /release all command. The others are probably either
10 or 192 addresses. Give this a try. Go into the proerties of the connection and
make it a manual not dhcp connection. From one of the laptops, do an ipconfig to
get the basic information. If the laptop shows an ip address of 192.168.0.13, make
the desktop 192.168.0.150. Make the dns entries identical. Then try and access
the internet. If this works, then the problem is not the NIC (Network card) and
we will look at that after.
