Mighty Vex,
A few for the road after I departure to the only safe destination from my beloved
W2K : WS2003
W2K sometimes behaves strangely with prompt update of External USB devices. Most
of the time
I would simply have to plug a one more time to finally wake W2K's royal USB refresh
slowness.
Not the world's worst problem but still, even with best oxford chipset, this is not
always desirable.
Is there some finer way, perhaps some patch for W2K to be more promptly with external
USB drives. Much in way (hate so say this) XP does?
Another thing I always forget to ask. Maybe this be just me, but I find caching and
preview of MM files
in Windows as the most annoying and pointless waste of resources. There is nothing
more irritating then Win trying to preview and digest too much compression for his
internal good. The remedy I use is always the same : http://tinyurl.com/2d8kbh
Is there some utility that would serve both W2K and (even more) for XP, that would
give you ability over the right click menu - to simply at desire, arrange this selectively
for any folder you wish. I'm never too happy doing this from Win's own devices. There
must be some smart util, I can't be the only one who is bothered with this?
As always, much obliged.
