You can't take one HD from one PC and drop it into a new PC ,,,and hope it will boot
up,,if it's running win2k on the HD..
The ntldr holds the info for the machine that it was in..
You can reboot with the win2k cd and run the repair and the ntldr file will scan
your hardware and set it up for the new PC..
Or you can just clean off the HD and just reinstall the OS aging with the win2k CD...
