Thanks for your reply.
I appreciate what you wrote but I am not trying to play audio files through explorer.exe.
I know I can't as I realise that it is an executeing file, not audio software.
If you read my original note again, my problem begins with the action of SELECTING
the audio file -- whether it is on desktop or in a folder -- (to drag/drop, rename,
etc.); the moment I select, Windows immediately complains with the error box, clears
the screen and resets it -- closing any other windows that were open.
If you have any other ideas, great!
