This is a problem that has been plaguing us for years. We schedule a weekly reboot of our windows 2000 servers. About every other weekend, one or two servers (out of ten total) will come back from a reboot but will not be connected to the network. You can log on to the server, and there are no error messages. The only thing wrong is there is no access to the network from the server...and you can't access the server from the network either. The only solution we have is to reboot the servers that don't hook up to the network once more and then typically they connect. I have tried every trick in the book to get our network router and hub running to spec. I have also staggered the reboot times so that the network isn't being "flooded". All of the servers run standalone, they are not on a windows domain. I can't figure out what to tweak or do about this problem.
