Did you say it was a IDE drive? There is information on the Seagate site about Windows
2000 and some versions of XP for drives over 137 GB. Or just go to this site:

Basically, you must create a single parttion under the '137GB' limit. Then install
from the CD. Then do DP-4. Next ix the 48 bit thing and create more partitions.
DO NOT create any partitions above the 137GB until you have the 48 bit thing fixed.
This is a well documented problem and much of the @#$% has to do with how Microsoft
was slow to fix this. There are several posts on this forum about the 48 LBA issue.
