I bought an old compaq laptop for parts, it came with win2kpro installed.. Can someone explain to me how to find out, if possible, what programs are starting up, I want to cut some out if possible.. I installed msconfig.exe from win xp, in the startup tab only mobsync.exe/logon and powerreg scheduler show. In the registry under the run folder, only powerreg scheduler is shown. What is this?? I do find various programs in the startup and start folders, system tool , accessories, and such like that. I'm used to Win 98 where in the startup tab in msconfig, you can what's going on. Clicking start, programs, startup, only shows powerreg. I'm not familiar at all with 2k pro, seems to be mostly network-oriented??? Thanks for answers, Mark
