Sounds like a machine that was used in a business or in a corporation environment.
If it was, it has been customized and secured so actually helping from a forum would
be about impossible, plus you really need to have a W2K install disk to repair/restore
anyway.
There are other utilities available but since I use Ccleaner on many machines, it
has a tab where you can see what is starting up and you can enable or disable items
in it. Works similar to what is in Win 9X and XP. If it doesn't show much, then
you need to dump the install and put your own operating system on it if you want,
or just tear it apart for parts and don't worry about trying to figure it out.
