I've used AntiVir for 5 years now.  Been the best for me.  Started with the free 
version which was better than anything else I tried, then purchased the package, 
less of a hog and effective.  I tried it whan it PC mags top free AV years ago.. 
 IME, if you get false positives with it, and report it, they work on finding the 
issue and usually gets fixed IME, whether it's the AV or anther vendors issue..  
(such Yahoo's mail issue a while back triggering an alert on all of my machines connected 
to the net)
