This depends on the program....generally speaking though, most software comes
with some sort of 'preference' settings. Check the program options out and look
for a checkbox or radio button that has "show icon in systray" and deselect it.
Some programs you can't disable without stopping them entirely from starting up.
As for windows 2000 services, none of them really show up in the systray and can
be controlled from the 'services' icon in Administrative Tools folder.
