Standbye mode has been problematic from day one. I learned a long time ago not
to bother with it and instead use the "sleep mode". Go to your Display Properties
and click on the Screen Saver tab then click the Power button on that pane. Set
"Standbye Mode" to 'Never' and then below that set "Turn off Monitor" to whatever
you wish....I have mine set to 5 min's. Also, you can set your hard drive to power
down here. This energy saving feature works......better than standbye and better
than a Screen Saver/Blanker.
