ICS is tricky at best. I've tried it wiht no real success. I had it working but if I had both the LAN and Internet NIC's enabled at the same time eventually the internet would stop running (anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes later). It was no big deal when I had the internet connected to this machine (I just left the LAN NIC disabled untill I needed to access a remote share) but since I swapped to a separate proxy/firewall PC serving up my internet connection that's not acceptable anymore...and it won't be for you. That was the "best" performance I got from ICS. Subsequently I went back to good old Sygate which I've used for years and does the job very nicely with an ease of setup that will make it a simple job for the most unitiated PC user.

The help files surprisingly enough have good information in them on how to set up ICS. However, where they say to leave the client set to "automatically get IP" from your ICS server, I found the only way I could get it to work as good as it did was to use static IP addresses.
