If I'm not mistaken, the POET software sounds like email and if that is correct,
it will have nothing to do with your IP assignment. Your IP is assigned to you via
a DHCP server on the ISP's end so you don't need any software to get your IP address
except what's included in windows already. If it is email software, try using Outlook,
it should work.
