Question about 'Use True-Color Icons'

I have a question about Use
True-Color Icons:
I have a Dell Inspiron 8000 with Win2000 and had nice true-color icons when I started
using it. However, this suddenly changed and I got bad Low-color Icons. I tried to
use the instructions in this article to correct that, but the checkbox "use high-color"
is already checked. I tried to uncheck it, go out, in again, check it and go out,
but this didn't help (although it redrew all icons). Any ideas? Thanks!
